Cisilia Kocherry — President
Hello friends! My name is Cisilia and I am very excited to be your President this year! I am in my third year of ArtSci, majoring in History and minoring in Classics. I’d like to be a teacher but ultimately the goal is to glorify God in whatever I end up doing.
In my free time you can catch me watching romcoms, attempting to make a dent in whatever book I’m reading (currently the Goblet of Fire), or just chilling at Newman trying to find more fun and exciting content for our Instagram. I love to go around campus trying to find new coffee places, but a fun fact I don’t like coffee.
When coming into the first year, I was excited to get involved with Newman House! I started taking faith studies, going to Thursday mass and dinner, and going to many social events. I was embraced with a welcoming community and I knew I had found my home away from home!
I am excited to see what the Lord has planned for us this year! Reach out if you ever have an idea for our socials, need help picking bird courses or even just want to go coffee shop hunting!

William Taylor — Vice President
Hello everyone! My name is Will and I have the pleasure of serving this community as Vice-President for the 2026/2027 academic year. I am currently in my 3rd year of a Classics and Archaeology Major/History minor. I hope to pursue either Law School or Teacher’s College after completing my Undergraduate Degree.
In my free time, I enjoy participating in intramural sports, cooking for my house, and spending time with my friends in the Newman community. During the school year, you can often find me hanging out in the Frassati House common areas, or at Newman during our Thursday Mass and dinners.
In my first year, I was initially very nervous about entering the Newman community, as many are. I was a very new convert at the time, being confirmed only 6 months prior to starting university, and was very shy about meeting new people, especially those who were Catholics for longer than I was. I was delighted to realize how welcoming the community was and how many other new Catholics there were alongside me. Joining Newman House created my entire social life at Queen’s from living at Frassati house, to participating in weekly Mass and dinners, to the wonderful events that our Newman team puts on, I don’t know where I would be without this community, and I will be forever grateful for the opportunities that Newman has given me.
I can’t wait to meet all of you this year, and I hope that we can grow together, bigger and more beautiful than ever before. God Bless!
Daniela Juric — Social Outreach Coordinator
Hi everyone! My name is Daniela and I am so excited to serve on Newman Exec this year as your Social Outreach Coordinator! I am going into my third year of Concurrent Education with an English major and Drama minor, hoping to one day teach middle school.
In my free time I love taking walks by the lake, doing anything that involves coffee, and spending time with friends. Around campus you can catch me studying in Stauffer or hanging around the ARC and JDUC.
In my first year, the thought of going to Newman was extremely nerve wracking, as it seemed like a tight knit community, and I knew no one. I dragged my brother along with me to the Welcome Back BBQ and was pleasantly surprised at how friendly and welcoming the Newman community truly was. From my very first time here, I knew Newman was a place I would look forward to going. Newman House has helped me grow deeper in my faith, has given me a wonderful community and has been a place where I have made friendships I know will last a lifetime.
I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us this year and can’t wait to meet you!

Noura Nasser — Community Outreach Coordinator
Hello! My name is Noura, and I will be your Community Outreach Coordinator this year. I am a second year in Arts and Science, specializing in Astrophysics, and I hope to pursue a future career in academia. I would love to be able to make complex ideas clearer and more accessible for others.
In my free time, I am usually reading, rewatching my favourite shows/movies (Pride & Prejudice ESPECIALLY), drawing and writing in my journal, or making Pinterest boards. I also really love music and will probably have a playlist for every mood or occasion. I especially enjoy finding new genres of Christian music. Some Christian bands I would recommend: Collective Dust, Neon Horse, and Plankeye.
Before starting my first year at Queen’s, I googled the words “Catholic clubs at Queen’s University Kingston” and Newman House popped up! I remember my first event was a Welcome Back BBQ after mass. I was very shy initially, but everyone was so friendly and always made sure that I was included in some way that it was hard not to open up. Since then, Newman House has been a big contributor in my spiritual growth.
I am eager to get started with the year, meet new people (maybe you can be one of them?!), and see how the year plays out. And please don’t be shy! Always feel free to reach out (especially if you want to talk about music and exchange playlists…).
Mark Klepner — Liturgical Coordinator
Hello! My name is Mark Klepner, and I have the privilege of serving the Newman House community this year as the Liturgical Coordinator. I am in my third year at Queen’s, pursuing a degree in Classics and History.
Growing up with Polish immigrant parents, the Catholic faith was always a big part of my life. But, as with most kids in my situation, waking up early to get to Mass was always the biggest struggle, and I dreaded every moment of it. I had my ups and downs in my faith throughout elementary and high school, but nothing ever really stuck.
Coming to Queen’s and being introduced to the Newman House community turned my life upside down for the better. My faith went from something I was embarrassed about and felt forced to participate in, to something I could genuinely live for. Since then, through participating in Newman House Masses and dinners, faith studies, and retreats, I have grown immensely in my personal and spiritual life, gaining so many incredible friends and memories that I will cherish for life. I am also blessed to live at Frassati House, the Catholic men’s house, where I have the opportunity to live out my faith alongside other Catholic men and grow in brotherhood and holiness.
Outside of Newman, I enjoy camping, biking, windsurfing, and pretty much anything related to the outdoors. You can often find me at Newman on Thursdays setting up for Mass, or downstairs “testing” the luxurious leather couches.
I look forward to helping our community grow in faith and reverence, and to providing a place where everyone can come together to worship our Lord.
Will Paré — Secretary and Treasurer
Hey everybody, my name is Will, and I am your Secretary-Treasurer this year! I am currently in my fourth year pursuing studies in Biology, Life Sciences, and Commerce at the Smith School of Business.
In my free time, I enjoy hitting the gym and playing all kinds of sports, including hockey, baseball, skiing, and golf. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, travelling, and getting involved in the Queen’s community.
I was introduced to the Newman House community in the second semester of my first year, and I was wonderfully surprised by its openness and camaraderie. It was here that I truly began to deepen and form my Catholic faith, while also being introduced to an amazing group of men through the Frassati Men’s Group. Newman House has given me the opportunity to meet some incredible people, grow in my faith, and become part of a community that has played a meaningful role in my time at Queen’s.
I’m so excited to bring fiscal responsibility and organization to Newman House this year while helping our executive team make the most of our resources and continue building the welcoming, faith-filled community that made such an impression on me when I first arrived. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and having a great year together!
